White Like Me

Hello Everyone.

With my upcoming show in the works I thought I would start a blog. Given that I've never done this before, I hope to see what happens, continuing with discussions as the show launches, etc.

Just to give an update, I have finished workshopping the script with my new director, Andy Eninger, and am currently working on the music with DJ Sapien, who I met doing the Bomb-itty of Errors show.

I am scheduled to workshop the show as part of the Single File Festival at the Athenaeum Theater in October and should have more information by the end of August. At this point, it is possible that I wil be opening the show in December at a theater that is yet to be named.

I am hoping people will post thoughts, comments and critiques of past and current performances to help shape my future work.

Look for an all new website coming soon in addition to an all new show with all new material...and an entirely new approach to my performance.

Later,

Cleetus

Excellent.

Although not quite The Bard and not like my other Solos, White Like Me is an autobiography delivered in my Hip-Hop Theater style. I am telling the story of how a Jewish boy from Pikesville got to be a rapper/performer in Chicago. It tells of the three things that influenced me along the way: my family, my religion and music.

My advice would be to get out of Pikesville and follow your dreams. If that is not an option, fly to Chicago and see this show. You will find that hip-hop isn't what you think it is.

One.
